Meeting people in acting?

I want to be an actress and I will be going to an acting school in Dallas soon. What i'm afraid of is that once I have graduated from the school, how do I meet the right people to get me to where I want to go? Im pionate about acting and I honestly think I cant have a happy, complete life without it. My goal is to make it to the red carpet and I don't want it not to take many years like it does for other people. How do I go about things the right way? I want to make it in California one day, but I want a real, excellent agent like the ones that the famous people have. How do I get there? Sorry if i seem a bit confusing I just feel like im having a meltdown and that I will easily get myself stuck in a hole. Please help me. Thank you.
