Why is Billy Mays so popular (The OxyClean guy)????

Is he the king of selling stuff on tv or something? Are all the products that he sells sold by the same company?? OxyClean, Kaboom, that adhesive stuff...etc etc. If not, why do they go to him to sell their products. I kind of get sick of seeing him on tv.....and I HARDLY get to watch tv!
