Mare and false labor?

My mare is close to having her foal I thought it was going to happen yesterday or lastnight...she stopped eating her grain but still munched on her hay. Her utters were full and she continued to lie down and get back up numerous times...it wasn't colic because she was still drinking plenty of water and ping BM's frequently! Lastnight I went to check on her around 11 and she was even sweating. Now this morning she is fine...and her milk has gone back up which I've never seen before. Can a mare have false labor? Has this ever happened to anyone before she has me worried!
