Why does my plasma tv keep switching picture ratios?

I set it to Full and it's fine most of the time but I notice that occasionally the picture ration changes automatically to a bigger setting and for example we lose the subtitles at the bottom of the screen. How can I get it to stay in the picture ratio we set?
